BASIC RULES

  1. A team consists of four (4) to eight (8) players on a written roster. Additional players may be added up to, but not including, the last three (3) weeks of the season. Each player will pay $10 in dues. Team captains will be responsible for paying this amount by the third week of play, or whenever an additional player is added. Banquet guest fees are $10.

  2. All matches start at 8:00 PM (8:15 at the latest) unless other arrangements have been made by both team captains. Games and throwing turns should start within five (5) minutes of the previous game/turn. Failure to do so constitutes a forfeit by the offending party. If necessary, and both captains agree, a game other than the team game may be played first to allow the match to start.

  3. Matches may be moved to another night upon agreement of both captains. The commissioner must be informed, and unless extraordinary circumstances dictate, the match must be played within six (6) days of the scheduled date.

  4. The match format shall be established at a pre-season meeting of team captains.

  5. No player may throw more than two (2) doubles events and one (1) singles event per match.

  6. The visiting team announces first the players to be throwing in each event.

  7. Player substitution policy:
    1. A substitute is defined as a player who is not on the team's roster.

    2. Rostered team members may throw for a team other than their own only with the approval of the opposing team's captain.

    3. Substitutes may not throw for a team if four (4), or more, rostered team members are present, without the permission of the opposing team's captain.

    4. Substitutes may not throw for a team in a lower division than their skill would reasonably dictate.

    5. Substitutes may not throw for the same team more than twice.

    6. Substitutes may not throw during the last three (3) weeks of the season.

  8. A match must be forfeited if less than three (3) players are present. On the week following a forfeit, the team forfeiting is obliged to buy the other team a pitcher of beer, of their choice. If a forfeit occurs during the last two (2) weeks of a season, statistics will remain unchanged and all members of the forfeiting team must sit-out the following season.

  9. If a team plays a match with three (3) players:
    1. One turn must be skipped by the 3-player team in each rotation during the team game.

    2. One doubles event must be forfeited (3-player team's choice).

    3. One singles game must be forfeited.

  10. Corking (ADO rules apply):
    1. The winner of a coin toss may choose to cork first or second.

    2. The dart closest to the bull wins the cork.

    3. The winner of the cork selects the game to be played (C-Division Team Game only!) and may elect to throw first or second.

    4. If the first player's cork sticks in a single or double bull,it may be acknowledged as such and pulled at the request of the player corking second.

    5. A cork must stick in the board to count. Subsequent darts may be thrown until a dart sticks.

    6. If the second player's cork knocks the first player's cork out, both players re-throw with the second player throwing first.

    7. If the winner of the cork cannot be determined without the use of a micrometer, a tie is declared and both players re-throw with the second player throwing first.

    8. In 2-out-of-3 events, the team that loses the first game has the choice of corking first or second for the second game. Should a third game be needed, the loser of the original coin toss has the choice of corking first or second for the third game.

  11. Scoring:
    1. Any dart(s) remaining in the board five (5) seconds after the third dart is thrown shall be scored.

    2. All darts must be left in the board until the opponent has had the opportunity to verify the score marked.

    3. Any error in scoring must be corrected prior to that player's/team's next turn and must be approved by the opposing team.

  12. All disagreements will be arbitrated by the commissioner. All appeals and challenges to the outcome of a match must be either brought to the attention of the commissioner the night of the match, or explained in a written statement and signed by both team captains.

  13. The commissioner's decision, in all cases, is final. This is generally known as RULE 13.
